Hi all, I'm an education technologist rather than a tree scientist but I wondered if anyone had wired up a dendrometer to a web-based data aggregator via the Internet of Things? The benefits seem to be: free network, and very long battery life.

This sounds interesting and would love to learn more on how to go about it. We plan to use dendrometers in our urban forests project which can be linked to the 'zambianwoods' database that we are developing https://www.cbu.ac.zm/zambianwoods/
thanks Joe
Hey Joe, Zoe Pierrat posted a great blog post that contains a link to some of her and Magali Nehemy's research using remote sensing & dendrometers. Check that out and to reach out to Zoe for more info!
This is a great question, Joe. I know of several dendros & forest ecologists who work with dendrometers that would likely be able to field your questions. Hopefully, some will be joining up here shortly.
